Ever wonder what your magazine looks like before you get it in your hands?
As a complete magazine-obsessed nerd, I do. I honestly do! Not only am I curious about the whole printing and binding process, I’m also really into the fresh smell of paper-meeting-ink, as well as things like differently-textured cover choices for future magazine issues. But that is a whole other blog post, am I getting off topic?
I’m getting hyper-excited for OP’s WORKIN’ STIFF issue to be released so I took a little field trip across the bridge to Oakland to visit our printers warehouse to see how the process is going for them. The pages have been printed and most have been trimmed, now they are just being hand-bound (stapled) and packaged up.
Remember, this issue is officially released August 27th at The Bell House in Brooklyn and we always ship out pre-orders and subscriptions before shipping to stores.
I snapped some photos of the 1984 Printing team doing their thing. Peep what’s on the pages of OP4 and see the what it looks like before its stapled up and mailed to you, after the jump!
